Welcome to our Q&A page where we get to dialogue on leadership questions that we would like to get a level on insight on. It is amazing to me when we consider the journey of a leader how similar the path is we get to travel.
My heart is to open this section so we can all present challenges we are faced with, taking time to consider an answer to and also an avenue for all of us to help each other with perspectives we have gained on our own leadership pathway.

How does one overcome the scenario when your leader is weaker than yourself and people around you are telling you that as well and you feel like a flea in a glass container...going no where fast!
Our role in any firm of leadership is to first serve. Once we fail in this area we fail in leadership. Having said that, if we are continually frustrated under the leadership we are serving and feel held back from what God has called us to do we then have two options. One, is to make sure we honour who is our leader at all times, as God has positioned those in authority and the bible makes it clear to honour those we are under no matter what their strength of leadership. The second is, if we feel we can’t trust or serve under them with integrity then we need to make a decision to reposition ourselves under someone else. David knew it was wrong to even cut the hem of King Saul's robe in the cave, even though Saul was leading wrong. Good King or bad King God still honours appointed authority.
I have many mature people in my church but find it really hard to lead them into needed change. What do you think is the key?
For years I have coined a quote, which is “You can only father those who choose to be your sons”. The challenge in being able to lead other people is we are faced with the fact that willingness begins with them. For years I tried lead others who never wanted to be lead and many of them were long time followers of Christ. I had to come to a point of realization that we are far better to focus on those that have made a willful decision to come under our leadership and the vision that has been entrusted for us to carry. You cant make anyone do what they don’t want to but you will be amazed by what can be done by those who choose to be your sons/daughters. Our key is to focus on the willing while loving everybody.
